School has started and life is hard for our kids. Lots of pressure on them in this fast paced world we live in, and as a mother, I want to encourage my kids any way I can.
Yesterday morning, I was reading my devotional book Jesus Calling. It was perfect for the first day of school. It said, "ENTRUST YOUR LOVED ONES TO ME."
It was in reading those words that God put on my heart to set scripture in the mind of my kids as they start their days. So I took one of the reference scriptures from the devotional and placed it on index cards with my children's names on them. It was Exodus 33:14, "I myself will go with you and give you success." the Living Bible
It is the first of many cards that will be strategically placed in their bathrooms each morning so the can dwell on that scripture while they get ready for school.
Colton said when he saw it, he thought, "That is so mom." Sarah didn't say much, but when I said her prayers that night, I noticed she had written Exodus 33:14 on her hand.
I have a feeling, for that first day of school, my kids knew God was with them. That is a successful day.
